All About Irrational Numbers!
Moving right along we are starting irrational numbers. Please take the time to watch the following videos before class:
Understanding Square Roots
Approximating Square Roots
These are a new concept and will be somewhat tricky. I gave a Perfect Squares handout that you will put in your comp book/spiral to keep handy! I suggest you memorize the first 25 squares (HINT! HINT!).
Homework tonight is to complete the Glencoe Square Roots Practice problems. There are 24 questions and you will need to use your notes from your comp book!
If you choose to watch the videos for extra credit, Your response should be formatted as:
3 things that I learned from the video
2 questions that I still have after watching the video
1 thing that STUCK with me
Also, the Technical Reading Strategies poster can be found by going here. It is a free download for you that I have created. Please use it at home whenever you are working with word problems.
