We have had a busy week here at CMS ad I know that you are all busy as well.
Tomorrow, Friday, December 2nd I will be out of class but the assignment "Solving Equations with Graphs" will be due!
Also, "Solving Equations with Word Problems" was due today, Thursday, December 1st. It will be accepted for no higher than a 70 until Monday.

– 2, 4, 6 exams (athletic pictures rescheduled 1/17/2012)

CA Algebra I: Simplifying Expressions

1.Exponents are repeated multiplication of the same thing by itself.
2. An exponent is also called a power.
3. Anything to the power zero is just "1".
2 things i have questions about ?
1.What do you do with the number inside the square brackets
2.does the power outside of the bracket go to the number inside.

1.Its easier to use distributive property for these problems

1.You always try to get x by itself
2. Solve an addition equation
by subtraction.
3.The goal is to get the x by itself which is your answer.
2 things i have ?'s about
1.Is it the same if the variable is on the right side of the number.
2.Do you perform the opposite thing to the number without the variable.

1.Whatever you do to an equation,
do the same thing
to both sides of that equation!
