You Can't Combine Apples and Oranges!

Today we began a review of Simplifying Expressions and started working with One Step Equations.  Below you can see the anchor charts that we created that should be written as NOTES in your notebook.

    In "CA Algebra I: Simplifying Expressions" it gives an examples of simplifying (to make less complex or complicate;make easier)

    solving one step equations
    3 things i learned-
    -How to solve an equation with a variable in it.
    -He makes it sound way more complicated then it really is.
    -All you do is subtract.
    2 things i still have questions about-
    -Why does he make it so complicated?
    -Do you have to check it every time?
    1 thing that stuck-
    -subtract the answer from one of the numbers in the problem and you get the missing number
