Newspaper Interviews 9/14

There should be no talking today as the Assignment that you are working on is a Test Grade. Anyone talking will receive a penalty on their test grade.

Journal:  Read this article from the Ridge Report.  After you have read the article, type up in Microsoft Word how you feel about texting in school based on what you have read.  Do you think it should be allowed between classes?  Write at least 7 complete sentences!  Print this out with your name at the top. I will be taking a journal grade today!

Assignment: Today you should have your teacher interview questions with you. Open up Microsoft Word and type up the transcript from your teacher interview.  You will write your name, the title will be the teacher's name, and then write the question and the answer to each underneath the question.  See the sample below.

Dr. Murry

1. Why did you decide to become a teacher?
Answer from Dr. Murry

When you have finished typing your transcript, save it as Transcript_TeacherName on your H drive.  Print a copy of your transcript so that I can take a grade on it.

Open a new document in Microsoft Word and use the following format to turn your transcript into an essay. You will notice that this format might be different than what you wrote before but this is the proper format that all of our interviews need to be written in.

Interview essay structure

  1. Introduction.
(Information about the interviewee, its peculiarities, activities, etc.)
  1. Body.
(Discussion of the topic of the interview and mentioning its important parts; quotes are included).
  1. Conclusion
(Reflects the general opinion of the interviewer concerning the subject revealed in the interview).

Once you have finished tying your three paragraph interview, save it as Interview_TeacherName and print a copy for your test grade.
